Each member agrees that new leadership is needed for Board of Administration Position B

San Jose, CA - Five current members of the CalPERS Board of Administration, including its president and vice president, have announced their support for Jose Luis Pacheco in his candidacy for CalPERS Position B. CalPERS Board President Henry Jones, Vice President Theresa Taylor, Member Rob Feckner, Member David Miller, and Member Ramón Rubalcava have endorsed Pacheco for Position B, which is currently held by Margaret Brown.
“We need leaders to serve on CalPERS who have the right experience. Jose Luis Pacheco is that leader for this seat. He serves as a responsible fiduciary on a credit union board and has effectively bargained for his fellow members as local union president. I strongly support Jose Luis Pacheco for CalPERS Board of Administration Position B,” said Henry Jones, President of the CalPERS Board of Administration.

As president of his local community college union, Jose Luis knows how to fight for workers and retirees. His bachelor’s degrees in economics and biological sciences and job as an IT professional give him the skills needed to add a valuable perspective to the CalPERS Board.,” said Theresa Taylor, Vice President of the CalPERS Board of Administration.

A 2nd generation union member, Pacheco currently works as an IT Developer / Administrator for the San Jose Evergreen Community College District. He is President of California School Employees Association Chapter 363 and serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Santa Clara County Federal Credit Union.
